The Microbiome-Host-Interaction lab, part of the Cluster of Excellence “Controlling Microbes to Fight Infections” (CMFI) at the University of Tübingen, aims at understanding how the lifestyle of gut microbes shape host health. To support our multidisciplinary research team, we are seeking to recruit a:

Project Manager (f/m/d) (TV-L 13 65% – 100%).

Your tasks:

We are looking for a talented individual to support the PI, postdoctoral fellows and students in their laboratory projects, including coordination of preclinical and clinical studies and reporting of results to funding agencies (ERC, DFG, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation). The role further involves lab management tasks such as budgeting, recruiting and maintaining the lab infrastructure. The successful candidate will also assist in the organisation of scientific meetings, symposia and research consortia. The position is ideal for a recent graduate looking to move into project management.

Your profile:

  • PhD or Master degree in microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related subject.
  • Passionate about scientific writing, project- and lab management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German.
  • Ideally, experience with animal experimentation applications.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills and strong sense of responsibility.

We offer an excellent, cross-disciplinary and engaging working environment within the Cluster of Excellence “Controlling Microbes to Fight Infections”, and the new Malignome-Metabolome-Microbiome-Research (M3) Institute, which integrates cancer research with microbiome and metabolism research.

We offer remuneration in accordance with TV-L (collective wage agreement for the Public Service of the German Federal States, E13, 65%-100% depending on your profile, initially limited to 24 months, with the possibility of extension). The position is available from 1 December 2023.
